A little bit about me

I began my career in advanced composites and product development, working on projects ranging from high-voltage cross-arm systems to next-generation wind turbine concepts.

After several years in R&D, I founded a strategic brand and design business in Port Stephens, helping technology companies clarify and communicate complex products.

That experience broadened how I think about systems, design, and collaboration - and today, I’m returning to hands-on engineering with a renewed focus on innovation in energy, materials, and manufacturing.

  • Developed braced hub concept for next-generation 20 MW + turbines.

  • Modelled in SolidWorks and GH Bladed; performed FEA and physical modelling for feasibility validation.

  • Delivered design report and 1:15 composite scale prototype for funding applications.

  • Investigated electrostatic spray-assisted vapour deposition (ESAVD) and developed equipment and software (LabVIEW) to improve coating onto 3D objects.

  • Used SEM, XRD, and computer simulation (C++) to model coating microstructure and thermal properties.

  • Awarded the Armourers and Brasiers’ Prize for highest-graded dissertation.

Beyond Engineering

Ten years leading a brand and design business taught me how to communicate complex ideas clearly and turn strategy into results. Leading multidisciplinary teams sharpened my systems thinking, collaboration, and communication - skills I now bring back to engineering and R&D.

Founder & Strategist

Founded and managed a brand and web agency serving technology and B2B clients. Led sales, strategy, and delivery. I coordinated between clients, designers, copywriters, and developers to deliver high-quality outcomes, on-time and on-budget.

Arago Technologies Ltd (2010–2011)

Project Engineer

Part of the spin-off team commercialising patented high-voltage composite cross-arm technology. Worked across design, testing, and partner engagement to prepare the product for field trials and industry adoption.

EPL Composite Solutions Ltd (2008–2011)

Project Engineer

Developed advanced composite structures and test rigs for energy and infrastructure projects. Led SolidWorks design, FEA validation, and prototype testing for R&D programs including wind turbine feasibility and composite cross-arm systems.

IMPT Ltd (2005–2008)

Design Engineer

Designed and refined a novel surface-coating process (ESAVD) for aerospace applications. Combined LabVIEW automation, process modelling, and experimental validation to improve coating performance and deposition efficiency.
